Jelly Roll Shares His Experience of a Broken Collarbone at the Grammys Following an ATV Accident: ‘I Felt Like Screaming’
Jelly Roll Reveals Secret Injury at 2026 Grammys
Country artist Jelly Roll disclosed on March 1 that he attended the 2026 Grammy Awards with a broken collarbone, a result of an ATV accident. This revelation came a month after the event, during which few recognized his pain.
In an Instagram post, Jelly Roll showcased his repaired ATV and expressed gratitude to his brother for fixing it. He recounted his first ride since the accident, stating, “I was so scared to get back on this thing. I just knew if I didn’t get back on it sooner than later, I was just going to be more and more afraid of it.”
The artist shared further details about the injury, revealing, “I was out there running all over the Grammys with a broken collarbone.” He posted an X-ray dated December 18, 2025, explaining how he felt pain every time he embraced someone, stating, “Every time somebody squeezed me, dude, I thought I was gonna cry.”
Despite his discomfort, Jelly Roll accepted the Grammy for Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken, during which he delivered an emotional speech reflecting on his faith while raising his award and a small Bible on stage. His remarks resonated with many fans, although some, including R&B singer Eric Benét, criticized him for avoiding political discussions during the event.
In addition to his win for Best Contemporary Country Album, Jelly Roll also received awards for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance, marking a clean sweep of all three nominations. One of his Grammys will be donated to a juvenile detention center in Nashville, a decision shared by his wife, podcaster Bunnie Xo.
“I know he’s gonna give one to the Juvenile in Nashville to give them a little inspiration and let them, you know, have a Grammy to themselves,” she told Entertainment Tonight after the ceremony, adding, “But he’s just so special. That is my husband. That’s what he does.”
