Michael Diliberti Takes the Helm as Director for Miami PI with Endurance Media
Filmmaker Michael Diliberti to Direct ‘Miami PI’
Filmmaker Michael Diliberti will direct the upcoming film Miami PI, a project he also wrote for Endurance Media. The comedy revolves around a wayward private investigator and a volatile ex-model who become entangled in a murder investigation during Miami Swim Week. As they navigate this sun-soaked world filled with excess, deception, and danger, the duo must confront criminal conspiracies and an unexpected romantic connection that could upend their mission.
This marks Diliberti’s second feature film after directing the comedy Bad Man, which stars Seann William Scott, Johnny Simmons, and Rob Riggle. Production for Miami PI is expected to begin in May, spanning locations in Miami and Puerto Rico. Steve Richards and Jake Katofsky will produce the film, alongside Brian Levy of Subtext Media.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be making MIAMI PI with Steve and Jake,” Diliberti stated. “From our very first conversation, it was clear we share the same instincts about tone, character, and how to make something that’s both fun and unexpected. I’m also thrilled to be teaming up with Levy again as a producer—having my longtime manager creatively involved on set has been personally meaningful.”
In addition to his work as a director, Diliberti is a seasoned screenwriter, having penned the comedy 30 Minutes or Less for Columbia Pictures. He is represented by UTA, Subtext, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.
Founded in 2015, Endurance Media has an impressive track record, including films such as Mark Felt: The Man Who Took Down a President, Villa Capri featuring Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones, and Freelance starring John Cena. The company utilizes a $250 million financing structure aimed at producing films in the $20 to $60 million range and has a strategic alliance with Entertainment One, which acts as both an equity partner and distributor across various territories.
