Michael B. Jordan is taking an active role in an eagerly awaited venture. The 38-year-old actor, recently nominated for a 2026 Best Actor Oscar, will serve as an executive producer on the upcoming TV adaptation of Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, produced through his company, Outlier Society Productions.
Speaking to Deadline on January 22, Jordan stated, “We are making sure that this is going to be [an] exciting show that delivers on all of the things the fans want and some of the things that they won’t be expecting either.” He acknowledged the beloved status of the franchise, affirming, “We’re diligently… We’re in the lab, we’re cooking up. We got it. It’s coming. It’s early stages, but I feel how much people care about this one. It’s not lost on us.”

This new series, acquired by Amazon MGM Studios, will join a slate of other productions from Outlier Society, including Creed III, Without Remorse, Just Mercy, and the Netflix series Raising Dion, all of which feature Jordan in starring roles.
While it remains uncertain whether Jordan will appear in Fourth Wing as an actor, he will assume a critical role as an executive producer alongside Yarros and Outlier Society Productions president, Elizabeth Raposo. The actor has previously expressed his commitment to diversity in film production, revealing in a since-deleted 2018 Instagram post that he would incorporate inclusion riders across all his projects. These riders require 50% diversity among cast and crew.

Jordan noted, “In support of the women & men who are leading this fight, I will be adopting the Inclusion Rider for all projects produced by my company Outlier Society. I’ve been privileged to work with powerful women and persons of color throughout my career, and it’s Outlier’s mission to continue to create for talented individuals going forward.”
The actor elaborated in a 2019 interview with Deadline, emphasizing the importance of storytelling in his production endeavors. “Starting in front of the camera, from the actor’s perspective, it’s all about the heart,” he explained. “It’s about wanting to create bodies of work and tell stories that will make people go home and think thoughts that will weigh heavily on their heart.”
Fourth Wing, a widely popular fantasy romance series, chronicles the adventures of 20-year-old Violet Sorrengail, a dragon rider at Basgiath War College, as she navigates the dangers of her life and her intense relationship with Xaden Riorson, a formidable fellow dragon rider.
The adaptation will also bring notable talent to its creative team. Moira Walley-Beckett, known for her work on Anne with an E, has been tapped as the showrunner. Additionally, Meredith Averill, an executive producer and writer from The Haunting of Hill House, will join the team as well.

On January 20, Yarros provided fans with an update about the ongoing adaptation. She shared, “I’ve read two versions of the script now and it is… Oh my God.”
In an emotional reflection, she described the apprehension of sharing her work, noting, “I was scared, I was super scared to read it. I think when you hand somebody your baby and you say, ‘Tell me what you think is important in here,’ you’re kind of like, ‘It’s all important,’ and I kicked my feet the entire time.”
Yarros concluded, “I love it. Moira’s done such an amazing job capturing everyone’s voice and the dialogue that you guys love, along with the energy and spirit of the book that I am… I could not be any happier. It’s amazing.”
