Mia Threapleton Joins Damien Chazelle’s Upcoming Film
Actress Mia Threapleton has joined the ensemble cast of Damien Chazelle’s untitled drama, which stars Cillian Murphy and Daniel Craig. Michelle Williams has also come on board, with Chazelle taking on the roles of writer and director. He will produce the film alongside Olivia Hamilton under their Wild Chickens Productions banner, with Paramount Pictures set to handle distribution.
While details remain unconfirmed, insiders suggest that the film is likely to be set in a prison.
Production is anticipated to begin later this year. Following the acclaim of films like Whiplash and La La Land, Chazelle has consistently attracted high-caliber talent such as Craig, Murphy, and Williams for his projects. Notably, Chazelle is known for his meticulous audition process for key roles, exemplified by how he approached casting Diego Calva in Babylon. Sources indicate he similarly took great care in selecting Threapleton for her role.
Threapleton recently garnered attention for her standout performance alongside Benicio del Toro in Wes Anderson’s latest film, The Phoenician Scheme. Additionally, she continues to star in the Apple TV series The Buccaneers, which has just concluded its second season.
She is represented by CAA in the United States and Markham Froggatt & Irwin in the United Kingdom.
