Melissa Collazo and Henry Eikenberry Team Up for The Probability of Miracles, with Rina Mimoun as Co-Showrunner
Melissa Collazo to Star in Prime Video’s ‘The Probability of Miracles’
Melissa Collazo, known for her roles in Motorheads and One of Us Is Lying, will lead the cast of Prime Video’s upcoming series The Probability of Miracles, adapted from Wendy Wunder’s novel. She will be joined by Henry Eikenberry, a rising star from Euphoria and The Crowded Room.
Rina Mamoun, the showrunner for The Girls on the Bus, has been appointed as co-showrunner alongside Katie Lovejoy, who had already been announced as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Mamoun holds an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television.
In her new role, Collazo portrays Campbell “Cam” Cooper, a teenage cynic diagnosed with neuroblastoma at age eight. Following a terminal prognosis, Cam and her family relocate to the town of Promise, where her mother hopes for a miracle. Although Cam is skeptical of magic, she embarks on what she believes to be a last summer filled with typical teenage activities, only to find that Promise has its own plans for her.
Eikenberry plays Asher, a charming and laid-back character who is skilled with power tools. He embodies the ideal summer love interest for someone relocating to a small coastal town. Yet, beneath his relaxed exterior lies a more complex character.
The Probability of Miracles centers on Campbell Cooper, a sardonic teen facing a terminal cancer diagnosis. As she and her family settle in the mystical town of Promise, where miracles are rumored to occur, Campbell wrestles with her disbelief in such possibilities. However, her summer in this eccentric locale leads her to reevaluate the concepts of miracles and love, challenging her initial convictions.
The series is produced by Alloy Entertainment with Warner Bros. Television and Amazon MGM Studios. Leslie Morgenstein and Laura Lancaster serve as executive producers, with Ella Jones directing and executive producing the debut episode.
Collazo recently appeared in Amazon Prime Video’s Motorheads and previously played Maeve Rojas in Peacock’s adaptation of One of Us Is Lying. Her portfolio also includes roles in Universal and Blumhouse’s Freaky and the DC series Swamp Thing. She is represented by Gersh, Play Management, Venture Entertainment Partners, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
Eikenberry gained prominence for his role in Euphoria as Derek and has since appeared in Apple TV’s The Crowded Room and the horror-comedy Lisa Frankenstein. His recent credits also include appearances in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Stories and the indie film Hold Up. He will soon be seen in the Peacock limited series Five Star Weekend and Kornél Mundruczó’s film At The Sea. Eikenberry is repped by Linden Entertainment and Gersh.
