Melinda French Gates Shares Her Thoughts on Bill Gates and His Links to Jeffrey Epstein Emails
Melinda French Gates has addressed her ex-husband Bill Gates’s involvement in recently released Epstein files, which have sparked renewed scrutiny. Among the allegations, a draft email from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein claims that the Microsoft founder contracted an STI from “Russian girls.” Bill Gates has firmly denied these assertions, describing them as “absolutely absurd and completely false.”
In an interview with NPR, French Gates characterized the ongoing Epstein saga as “heartbreaking,” noting that it has stirred “memories of some very, very painful times in my marriage.” She expressed concerns about the implications of the allegations and how they resonate with broader societal issues regarding abuse and exploitation.
“I think we’re having a reckoning as a society, right?” French Gates stated during her appearance on NPR’s “Wild Card” podcast. She emphasized that no girl should ever endure the circumstances imposed by Epstein and those around him.
Reflecting on her past, she said, “For me, it’s personally hard whenever those details come up, right, because [it] brings back memories of some very, very painful times in my marriage. But I have moved on from that.”
French Gates further indicated that Bill Gates needs to “answer” for his connection to Epstein, emphasizing that the questions surrounding the matter are his to address. “Whatever questions remain there…I can’t even begin to know all of it—those questions are for those people and for even my ex-husband,” she said. “They need to answer to those things, not me.”
In her concluding remarks, she expressed relief at having distanced herself from the tumultuous elements of her past. “I am so happy to be away from all the muck that was there,” she stated.
Bill Gates has not been charged with any crimes in relation to Epstein, who died in federal custody in August 2019. Following their divorce, which was finalized in 2021, Melinda French Gates also expressed her deep sadness regarding both the dissolution of her marriage and the suffering experienced by Epstein’s victims. “At least for me, I’ve been able to move on in life, and I hope there’s some justice for those now-women,” she remarked, highlighting the gravity of their experiences.
