Meghan Markle Reflects on Holiday Traditions in New Netflix Special
In her recent Netflix special, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, Meghan Markle opens up about creating cherished holiday traditions for her children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4. The Duchess of Sussex’s emotional reflections provide insight into her family’s festive celebrations.
Markle describes the joy of holiday preparations, including decorating a Christmas tree, stating, "I love having a tree up." She highlighted the custom Advent calendars she made for her children, featuring their names along with pockets that countdown the days until Christmas.
“I’m writing, ‘I love you because you’re so kind, I love you because you’re so brave,’” Markle said, detailing the affirming messages she included in her distinctive calligraphy to accompany treats in the calendars. She expressed hope that these traditions will last for years, emphasizing that "a tradition has to have a beginning."

This year’s celebration included a special ceramic plate designed for the occasion, where frosted cookies were placed alongside the carrots.

Markle expressed that having Prince Harry and their children visit her on set was a special experience, especially as it allowed her kids to see their mother at work for the first time.
“Archie did the [filming clapboard]! Sweet moments,” she noted. "I loved that my children were able to watch me working and understand what Mama does."
