Megan Thee Stallion has announced an unexpected early departure from Broadway’s Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
On Monday, April 27, the rapper took to Instagram to announce that her final performance as Zidler will take place on May 1, a significant change from her original schedule, which extended through May 17.
“Hotties, my last performance as Zidler in @moulinrougebway will be May 1,” Megan wrote, sharing snapshots of herself with fans and fellow cast members. “It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family, and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater!”
She expressed her gratitude toward the cast and crew, acknowledging their dedication and hard work. “And to all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey! I LOVE Y’ALL. See you soon,” she added.
Megan made her Broadway debut as Zidler on TKTK, becoming the first woman to take on this role in the show. Her announcement comes shortly after her breakup with Klay Thompson, a shooting guard for the Mavericks. On Saturday, April 25, she revealed via Instagram Story that the relationship ended due to Thompson’s infidelity.
“Cheating had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” the three-time Grammy winner stated. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season, now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’????”
In a follow-up statement to Billboard, Megan confirmed the end of her relationship, emphasizing that “Trust, fidelity and respect” are “non-negotiable” for her.
“I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity,” she concluded.
