Netflix Reveals Core Cast for Live-Action “Scooby-Doo” Series
In an exciting update, Netflix has unveiled the main cast for its highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the iconic animated series "Scooby-Doo." The announcement follows the company’s initial plans, revealed in March 2025, to create an eight-episode series reimagining the beloved franchise.
The reveal came through an Instagram post on Wednesday, where Netflix introduced Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, and Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers. Jenkins playfully commented on the announcement, “Looks like we got another mystery on our hands!”
Joining them is 19-year-old Mckenna Grace, who was announced last month as Daphne Blake. Fans have shown enthusiasm over the cast selection, though many are still curious about who will voice the titular character, Scooby-Doo.
The upcoming series is described by Netflix as a “modern reimagining” that centers on old friends Shaggy and Daphne teaming up with the scientific Velma and the enigmatic Fred at a summer camp. Together, they will investigate the mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy, potentially linked to a supernatural event. Filming is set to commence next month.
