Max Mara will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Max Mara Face of the Future Award by honoring Maude Apatow during the 2025 WIF Honors Event, scheduled for November 6 at the Beverly Hilton. This milestone event recognizes rising stars in the entertainment industry who exemplify artistic excellence, style, grace, and leadership.
The Face of the Future Award, presented in partnership with Women in Film (WIF), has a rich history of spotlighting emerging talent. Notable past recipients include Joey King, Yara Shahidi, Lili Reinhart, Zazie Beetz, Gemma Chan, and Regina King, among others.
Apatow is renowned for her role as “Lexi Howard” in HBO’s hit series Euphoria. Beyond her acting prowess, she has also made strides as a director and producer. In 2024, she co-founded Jewelbox Pictures, a production company aimed at creating opportunities for women in film. Her directing debut, Poetic License, premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, further establishing her as a significant creative force in Hollywood.
The 2025 WIF Honors gala will also pay tribute to several influential figures, including director and producer Nia DaCosta, actor Tessa Thompson, and producers Dede Gardner and Gabrielle Nadig for their upcoming film Hedda. Additionally, TV writer and showrunner Mara Brock Akil, along with Academy Award winner Regina King, will be celebrated for their work on their Netflix series Forever. The Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award will be presented to Jamie Lee Curtis by Fonda herself.
This year’s event adopts the theme "Unity," emphasizing the importance of solidarity in advancing equity, diversity, and storytelling that encompasses a broad spectrum of experiences. The gala reaffirms Max Mara’s commitment to promoting female talent and leadership in an industry where representation continues to be vital.
As the Face of the Future Award marks its 20th year, Apatow’s recognition underscores her dedication to her craft and her emerging leadership role in the entertainment sector.
“This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Max Mara Face of the Future Award, and we could not imagine a more inspiring rising star to carry that legacy forward than Maude Apatow,” said Kirsten Schaffer, CEO of WIF.
