Marty Supreme, A24’s Top-Grossing Film Ever, is Coming to HBO Max
A24’s highest-grossing film, Marty Supreme, is set to premiere on HBO Max on Friday, April 24. The film, featuring Timothée Chalamet, will also be broadcast on HBO linear on Saturday, April 25 at 8 PM.
Marty Supreme debuted in theaters on Friday, December 19, creating a 126-day window until its HBO Max release.
The film grossed $95.9 million domestically and over $179 million worldwide, surpassing A24’s previous record-holder, the multi-Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All at Once, which earned $77.1 million domestically and $147.9 million globally.
Set in post-World War II, the film follows an ambitious aspiring ping pong player, portrayed by Chalamet, navigating the early days of a sport that is gaining international traction. The cast includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, Fran Drescher, Luke Manley, and Koto Kawaguchi. Josh Safdie directed the film, co-writing the script with Ronald Bronstein. The production team features Eli Bush, Bronstein, Safdie, Anthony Katagas, and Chalamet.

Marty Supreme received nine Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director for Safdie, and Best Actor for Chalamet. Chalamet is nominated in two categories: for his role as the lead actor and as a producer on the film, alongside Safdie, Bronstein, Bush, and Katagas.
