Marcus Scribner from Boston Blue Shares His Thoughts on Season 1 Finale: ‘I Want More’
Marcus Scribner, known for his role in the new series *Boston Blue*, conveyed mixed feelings about the season one finale in an exclusive interview. While he acknowledged the ending was intriguing, he expressed dissatisfaction due to his desire for more content. “I don’t want to say if it’s satisfying or a cliffhanger — but I was not satisfied because I want more,” Scribner, 26, stated.
He also shared that audiences will gain deeper insights into his character, Jonah, before the season concludes. “We get some cool pairings, which is really dope. We switch things up a little bit and [have] some fun guest stars as well, which I know a lot of people are excited for,” he added. Despite his yearning for more, Scribner labeled the upcoming finale a “great” ending, admitting, “It just left me wanting more.”
*Boston Blue*, a spinoff of *Blue Bloods*, follows the lives of the Reagan family, primarily featuring the NYPD under the guidance of Commissioner Frank Reagan, portrayed by Tom Selleck. The original series aired from 2010 until 2024, detailing the family’s dynamics and professional challenges. The spinoff focuses on former NYPD officer Danny Reagan, now with the Boston Police Department, and partners him with Detective Lena, played by Sonequa Martin-Green.

Scribner admitted that he was unfamiliar with *Blue Bloods* before joining *Boston Blue*, but he had certainly heard of its cultural impact. “I hadn’t watched *Blue Bloods* prior to joining *Boston Blue*, but I heard a ton about it from my relatives. It’s been a cultural phenomenon for years,” he remarked.
He described integrating aspects of Danny Reagan’s character into Jonah Silver. Scribner noted, “Taking some of those characteristics from Danny Reagan, I was trying to infuse them into my character, Jonah Silver, who is a bit of a hothead like Danny. He goes against the grain to do what he thinks is morally right, which has been very exciting.”
Joining the *Blue Bloods* universe has, according to Scribner, provided him a platform for growth as an actor. “It’s been very, very interesting. I recently rediscovered myself as an actor,” he explained. “It’s been very fun to ground myself in this universe.”
He praised his costars for their influence on his performance, stating, “Acting is so weird because it really is so much receiving. So being on the show and being around these amazing actors is so nice because you barely have to do any work. I’m just listening to them, and it really builds this feeling in you and you just get to respond.”
Scribner concluded by noting the physical challenges of the role, including engaging in stunts. “It’s definitely been challenging and cool getting to do a lot of physical stunts and all those things. I was involved in a car chase recently — an explosion — and all this crazy stuff. So it’s been really cool,” he said.
*Boston Blue* airs on CBS Fridays at 10 p.m. ET, with new episodes available the following day on Paramount+.
