Lola Young is breaking her silence after a period of absence from the public eye. The “Messy” singer attended Lily Allen’s Christmas party on Friday, Dec. 19, marking her first public appearance since collapsing on stage at the All Things Go festival in September.
In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram on Saturday, Dec. 20, Young expressed her gratitude for the support she has received. “I just wanted to express gratitude to everyone who has given me time and space to gather myself and get my head in a better place,” she wrote. “I’ve felt so much love and support from you all, and it has helped more than you will ever know.”
Young added, “I am hoping to gradually get back to performing and continue pursuing my dreams. Happy holidays to you all and can’t wait to see you in 2026. Life is a journey; nothing is perfect, but today I am doing well.” She concluded her note with “All my love always, Lola.”
This update followed an appearance where Young was seen smiling alongside Allen and Olivia Rodrigo at Allen’s Christmas party held at London’s Stringfellows strip club.
Just days after collapsing during her performance in September, Young announced she would be taking a break from her career, stating, “I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future.” She expressed remorse for having to cancel her shows, assuring fans that they were entitled to a full refund for their tickets.

“I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger,” she stated.
During her hiatus from the spotlight, Young achieved significant recognition, earning two Grammy Award nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Solo Performance for her track “Messy,” which has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.
