### Lola Young Celebrates First Grammy Win
Britain’s Lola Young has made her mark in the music industry by winning the Best Pop Solo Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards for her hit song, “Messy.” The awards ceremony took place on Sunday, February 1.
Young, 25, accepted her award amidst a competitive field, which included notable artists such as Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, and Chappell Roan. Upon hearing her name called by presenter Charli XCX, Young enthusiastically leaped from her seat and rushed to the stage.
“I don’t have any speech prepared,” she said candidly. “Obviously, I don’t. It’s ‘Messy,’ do you know what I mean?” The singer expressed her gratitude, adding, “Thank you so much. You can tell by my f—ing face. Sorry, sorry, sorry.” She concluded her brief remarks with a heartfelt, “I’m very, very grateful for this… Nick [Shymansky], we did it, Mom. I love you.”

Young’s achievement comes just four months after a challenging setback when she collapsed on stage at the All Things Go festival in September 2025. Following that incident, she announced the cancellation of her upcoming performances, prioritizing her well-being, and expressed her regret for disappointing fans who had purchased tickets to her shows.
“To everyone who has given me time and space to gather myself and get my head in a better place, thank you,” Young wrote in an Instagram update after her recovery. Her comeback began with a public appearance at Lily Allen’s Christmas party in December 2025.
As Young continues to rise in the music scene, her emotional Grammy acceptance speech has resonated with fans, highlighting both her talent and resilience in the face of adversity.
