Arcadia Mall Lockdown Due to False Gun Threat
An Arcadia shopping center was placed on lockdown Wednesday evening following a false report of a firearm.
According to Crime Stoppers, police received a call shortly before 5 p.m. from an individual claiming to possess a gun and threatening a customer at the Shops at Santa Anita. In response, the Arcadia Police Department acted swiftly, placing the plaza under temporary lockdown for safety.
Officers conducted a thorough search of the premises and confirmed that the reported threat was a hoax. Following this assessment, the lockdown was lifted, allowing normal operations to resume at the mall.
