Lily Collins Reunited with Her $80,000 Engagement Ring After It Was Stolen Years Ago
Lily Collins has joyfully announced the recovery of her engagement ring, nearly three years after it was stolen from a West Hollywood hotel spa. The actress shared the news on March 6 through an Instagram Story, expressing her gratitude by stating, “So grateful to @joethejewelerchicago for helping recover my original engagement ring after it was stolen almost three years ago. Having this home means SO much to us. I’m still speechless it’s back on my finger 🥹🤯🥰.”
The rose-cut diamond ring, co-designed by Collins’ husband, Charlie McDowell, is valued at approximately $80,000. Collins had previously revealed that the unique ring was created in collaboration with jeweler Irene Neuwirth. “I was very surprised by it,” she remarked. “But it’s exactly what I would’ve wanted, and he knew me so well, obviously.”
In May 2023, while staying at the Edition hotel, Collins experienced the loss of both her engagement ring and wedding band during a visit to the hotel spa. Sources close to the actress reported that she had secured her belongings in a locker, only to find upon her return that they were missing.
Collins and McDowell married in September 2021. Following their wedding, Collins shared a heartfelt Instagram post: “I’ve never wanted to be someone’s someone more than I do yours, and now I get to be your wife. On September 4th, 2021, we officially became each other’s forever. I love you beyond @charliemcdowell…”
Adding another milestone to their journey, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Tove Jane, via surrogate in January 2025. Collins expressed profound gratitude for the support they received, stating, “Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way. We love you to the moon and back again.”
