Lili Reinhart has publicly addressed the online harassment she endured due to her political views.
On January 27, Reinhart took to her Instagram Stories to share a post from the feminist account, which condemned the AI chatbot Grok on X (formerly Twitter). The chatbot has been criticized for modifying images into sexually explicit content.
The 29-year-old actress included two slides in her post, one of which featured an advertisement resembling a bus stop poster.
The ad depicted Elon Musk, owner of X, and questioned, “Who the f— would want to use social media with a built-in child abuse tool?” It urged viewers to “delete your X account.”
Reinhart revealed that she discontinued her X account several years ago due to alarming experiences on the platform. She mentioned, “Stopped using X in 2024 when men were sending me messages about [how] I deserved to be r*ped for voting for Kamala [Harris].” She noted that “one of” the individuals who harassed her was a former government employee.

Reinhart is among several celebrities who have ceased using Musk’s platform due to disagreements with his political stance.
Musk, 54, acquired the platform in October 2022, prompting widespread criticism and account deletions among high-profile users.
Model Gigi Hadid expressed her concerns about the platform in November 2022, stating she had “deactivated” her Twitter due to its increasing atmosphere of hate and bigotry, particularly following Musk’s leadership change.
Last year, Kelsea Ballerini shared with PEOPLE that she “got rid of Twitter a long time ago” amidst her difficulties with social media, noting, “Twitter kicked my ass, so Twitter’s been gone for a long time.”
Rapper Jelly Roll labeled the platform as “for sure the most toxic negative app to exist ever,” announcing his decision to deactivate his account in 2024. He remarked, “I always heard it was the Wild West on here, but man, it’s insane,” adding, “It’s a safe place for everyone to say mean s— to each other with no consequences.”
