Leila George Nears Role in Oliver Stone’s Upcoming Film ‘White Lies’
Leila George is reportedly in final negotiations to star alongside Josh Hartnett in Oliver Stone’s latest project, White Lies. Production for the film is set to commence soon. Stone, known for his provocative storytelling, has written and will direct this original work, which is characterized as an intimate exploration of “family, loss and pain and how love can change shape in the course of our lifetimes.”
The narrative unfolds over three generations, centering on Jack Freeman, portrayed by Hartnett. A child of divorce, Jack finds himself repeating the mistakes of his parents in his own marriage and family. Struggling with feelings of entrapment, he embarks on a passionate journey in search of freedom, only to discover he is more lost than ever. His encounter with a woman whose life contrasts sharply with his own prompts an unexpected path of self-discovery.
Principal photography will take place in various international locations, including Rome, Italy; Bangkok, Thailand; and Sofia, Bulgaria. Additional casting announcements are anticipated soon. John Burnham and Lawrence Kopeikin are set to serve as executive producers.
The film will be produced by Fernando Sulichin, along with Maximilien Arvelaiz and Jordan Gertner, under Sulichin’s New Element Media, which is known for its collaborations with Stone on projects like Savages and Snowden. Executive producers include Tarak Ben Ammar and Gianluca Leurini from Eagle Pictures, as well as longtime associates of Sulichin, James Packer and Jose Luis Manzano.
Currently, George appears in the Ryan Murphy series Love Story on FX and has recently completed filming for the Amazon MGM Studios film Road House 2, featuring Jake Gyllenhaal. She is also involved in the Netflix series All Sinners Bleed ahead of her role in White Lies.
George was last seen in the Apple TV series Disclaimer, alongside Cate Blanchett. She is represented by WME, Strand Entertainment, United Agents, and United Management.
