Lara Pulver and Kimonas Kouris Join the Cast of Edward Berger’s New A24 Film ‘The Riders’
EXCLUSIVE: Edward Berger has expanded the cast of his upcoming A24 film, The Riders, by adding Lara Pulver and Kimonas Kouris. The film is based on Tim Winton’s novel of the same name.
Details about their characters remain undisclosed. First published in 1994, The Riders tells the story of Scully, an Australian man who, accompanied by his young daughter Billie, travels through Europe in search of his estranged wife.
Brad Pitt leads the ensemble cast, which also features Julianne Nicholson, Coco Greenstone, Michael Smiley, Danny Huston, Camille Cottin, and Ulrich Thomsen.
The screenplay is adapted by David Kajganich, with producers including Ridley Scott and Michael Pruss from Scott Free, along with Kajganich, Berger of Nine Hours, and Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner, and Dede Gardner from Plan B Entertainment.
The collaboration reunites Scott Free with Berger and Kajganich after their work on AMC’s The Terror. The film project began to take shape a decade ago when Kajganich introduced the novel to Scott Free, capturing Berger’s interest. A24 is financing the movie and will manage its global distribution, with production set to commence this month in Europe.
Pulver, recently seen alongside Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan in Paramount+’s MobLand, which is gearing up for its second season, is also recognized for her roles in The Alienist, Da Vinci’s Demons, and True Blood. She has appeared in films such as Edge of Tomorrow and is represented by Independent Talent Group and Gersh.
Kouris, known in the U.S. for his performances in Tehran and Daisy Jones & The Six, is represented by KP Talent Management.
