LOS ANGELES – A routine municipal cleanup operation in Pacoima took an alarming turn on Tuesday morning when a dog attacked a Los Angeles Police Department officer and a civilian. The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. near the intersection of Bradley Avenue and Montague Street while officers were assisting with site clearing.
According to the LAPD, both the officer and the bystander suffered bite wounds during the encounter. Current reports indicate that authorities are investigating claims of gunfire at the scene, though details remain unclear.
As of now, the LAPD has not confirmed the severity of the injuries sustained by either individual, and information regarding the dog’s status and breed remains unknown. It is unclear whether the dog was a stray or belonged to someone present at the location.
