LAPD Responds to Armed Man Incident at South Los Angeles Shopping Mall
Los Angeles police officers quickly responded to reports of an armed individual at a shopping mall in South Los Angeles on Monday morning.
Authorities received the call about a man, described as being between 30 and 40 years old, who was allegedly holding a sharp object. In response, several businesses in the shopping center were evacuated to ensure the safety of patrons and staff.
Police arrived at the scene around 7:30 a.m., specifically at the 5800 block of Vermont Avenue. Nearby Augustus Hawkins High School, which is adjacent to the mall, remained unconfirmed for lockdown status at this time.
