LAPD Detains Man for Inappropriate Behavior and Threatening Reseda Residents
Disturbance in West San Fernando Valley Leads to Arrest
A 44-year-old man has been arrested in a west San Fernando Valley neighborhood after allegedly hanging out of a window, exposing himself, and shouting racial slurs. The LAPD confirmed the arrest of Gregory William, who faces charges of felony criminal threat.
Police responded late Tuesday night to a disturbance call on the 7700 block of Garden Grove Avenue. Witnesses reported that William was threatening people while acting inappropriately from his window.
William is currently being held on a $75,000 bond. Local residents have expressed ongoing fear and frustration regarding his behavior. One woman, who requested anonymity for safety reasons, described the situation, stating, "He just starts screaming sometimes. Any given day, he’ll just decide to lean out his window, start screaming for a few hours. It’ll go on into the middle of the night. I hear him sometimes at 2 in the morning, 3 in the morning, and it just doesn’t stop until the next morning."
According to neighbor accounts, police have been called to the area approximately 150 times regarding William’s conduct, but officers noted limitations in addressing the situation. City Councilmember Nithya Raman, representing the district that includes Reseda, acknowledged the problem.
"Our office has just been made aware of the situation, and we are actively looking into it," Raman stated. "Every resident deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood, and we take these concerns seriously. It is also clear that the individual at the center of this situation is in need of serious support and services. We will be in contact with the relevant city departments to ensure this matter receives the attention it warrants, and we will be reaching out to the residents involved and working to identify the appropriate next steps."
