Lady Gaga Stops Concert to Help Backup Dancer After Fall from Stage
Lady Gaga briefly paused her concert in Sydney, Australia, on Saturday, December 13, after one of her dancers fell off the stage during a performance.
As part of her ongoing Mayhem Ball Tour, Gaga was performing “Garden of Eden” when the accident occurred. She immediately addressed the audience, stating, “Just one second. We just had an accident on stage. Everything’s OK, just everyone wait a second, please.”
After ensuring her dancer, Michael Dameski, was alright, the show resumed once he was back on his feet. Dameski later reassured fans via social media, saying, “Hey everyone, I’m OK. Thank you for checking. Happy I was able to finish the last show of the year! The show must go on.”
Gaga, who announced her Mayhem Ball Tour earlier this year, reflected on her evolving approach to performing during a November interview with Rolling Stone. “I’m not an adrenaline junkie anymore. I used to love that feeling,” she explained, highlighting the intense emotions she experiences while on stage. “For 90 seconds, I have to talk myself out of a panic attack.”
Gaga discussed the duality of her identity in relation to her on-stage persona and her real self. Her fiancé, Michael Polansky, echoed this sentiment, stating, “She’s definitely not Gaga or Stefani. She’s both.” Gaga elaborated, saying, “I think I just feel more relaxed about it all. Like, I am Lady Gaga… It’s just me.”
Since their relationship began in 2019, Gaga and Polansky got engaged in 2024. In an earlier interview with Vogue, Gaga spoke fondly of Polansky, recalling her mother’s immediate connection with him, saying, “I think I just met your husband.” The couple’s bond has deepened through meaningful conversations and shared experiences.
