Kyle MacLachlan Shares Exciting Season 2 Update: “I Can’t Wait to See What Happens”
As Overcompensating prepares for its sophomore season on Prime Video, Kyle MacLachlan expressed excitement for the new installment of Benito Skinner’s college comedy. Speaking on the red carpet, MacLachlan mentioned, “I know that Benny and the group are in the writers room, and I know they’re working away. But I am as curious as you are about what they have up their sleeve, so we’ll see. I mean, whatever it is, it’ll be great.”
In the first season of the hit series, MacLachlan portrayed John Hanlon, the supportive father of Skinner’s closeted freshman, Benny, and his high-achieving sister, Grace, played by Mary Beth Barone. He shares the screen with Connie Britton, who plays their mother, Kathryn.
Simultaneously, MacLachlan is appearing in Season 2 of Fallout, which features new episodes available weekly on Prime Video. He reprises his role as Hank MacLean, a complex patriarch whose daughter Lucy, portrayed by Ella Purnell, seeks to hold him accountable for his actions leading to a nuclear apocalypse.
Reflecting on his current television roles, MacLachlan said, “I’m loving it.” He also mentioned a podcast titled What Are We Even Doing?, emphasizing his interest in connecting with Gen Z and young millennials. “I had to have the podcast, of course,” he explained. “And I spent time talking with Gen Z and young millennials because I’m genuinely curious about their process, their creative process, and I have met the most amazing people along the way, and I’m just getting started, so I’m excited.”
