Kumail Nanjiani, O’Shea Jackson Jr., John Leguizamo, and Dan Fogler Team Up with Josh Hartnett in Tommy Wirkola’s New Action Film ‘All Day & All Night’
Oscar Nominee Kumail Nanjiani Joins Star-Studded Cast of ‘All Day & All Night’
Oscar nominee Kumail Nanjiani, along with O’Shea Jackson Jr., Emmy winner John Leguizamo, and Tony winner Dan Fogler, is set to join previously announced Josh Hartnett in the upcoming action-thriller All Day & All Night.
Directed by Tommy Wirkola, known for his work on the Violent Night and Dead Snow franchises, the film is co-written by Wirkola and John Niven. XYZ Films is producing and financing the project, with IPR.VC also providing support and handling global sales.
The film is scheduled to begin production later in 2026.
According to the film’s synopsis, the story revolves around reformed bank robber Billy Davies, played by Hartnett, who returns to a life of crime to fund his daughter’s tuition at Harvard. When a bank heist goes awry, Davies and his crew, including Nanjiani and Jackson Jr., accidentally find themselves on the set of a struggling reality TV show. As the crew works to evade both the police, portrayed by Leguizamo and Fogler, and the mob, the producers must keep the show afloat to avoid cancellation.
XYZ Films has collaborated with Wirkola for years, previously executive-producing Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead and most recently financing the Norwegian film The Trip, released by Netflix in 2021. They are also in the process of remaking The Trip in English, titled Over Your Dead Body, which will premiere in the SXSW Headliner section this weekend and receive a wide theatrical release from IFC on April 24th.
Guy Danella, XYZ’s President of Film, is overseeing the project. Prior to joining XYZ, Danella produced Universal’s Violent Night and Over Your Dead Body.
Wirkola is currently in post-production on Violent Night 2, slated for release in December 2026, and is also working on a shark thriller starring Phoebe Dynevor, which will debut on Netflix this summer.
“We’ve assembled a group of my dream actors to join Josh on this movie, and I can’t wait to see them bring life to our eclectic crew of characters. It’s going to be a wild ride,” Wirkola said.
Nanjiani is represented by UTA and Mosaic, Jackson Jr. by WME and Cube Vision, Leguizamo by UTA and Mosaic, and Fogler by Verve Talent and Literary, Entertainment 360, and Common Ground Entertainment.
