Kate Walsh Joins CBS Comedy Pilot ‘The Tillbrooks’
Kate Walsh Returns to Multi-Camera Comedy with Lead Role in CBS Pilot ‘The Tillbrooks’
Kate Walsh, renowned for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, is making a comeback to her multi-camera comedy roots as she takes on the lead role in CBS’s pilot The Tillbrooks. The show, formerly titled Regency, features Walsh alongside Rhys Darby and is produced by Tara Hernandez in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television.
Set in 19th Century England, The Tillbrooks presents a historical take on the classic family sitcom, following the upper-middle-class Tillbrooks as they navigate life, love, and scandal. Walsh portrays Jocelyn, the ambitious matriarch who is determined to elevate her family’s status. Known for her theatrical flair, Jocelyn often breaks into song and concocts plans to achieve her goals.
Joining Walsh and Darby, who plays family patriarch Arthur Tillbrooks, are Hayley Griffith as the eldest daughter Maureen, Mia Challis as the youngest daughter Wilhelmina, and Shiv Pai as the head groundskeeper Henry.
In an intriguing addition, child actor Jax James has been cast in the series regular role of Dougie, Maureen’s son. Despite not yet being ten years old, Dougie portrays the wisdom of a scholar, eschewing childish pursuits.
Walsh first gained recognition for her significant role on ABC’s The Drew Carey Show, which, like The Tillbrooks, was produced by WBTV and filmed at the Warner Bros. lot. She is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Dr. Addison Montgomery on Grey’s Anatomy and its spinoff, Private Practice. Walsh has also made recent appearances in Netflix series such as 13 Reasons Why, The Umbrella Academy, and Emily in Paris. In addition to her new role, she stars in the upcoming feature comedy What the Fck Is My Password?!* and is represented by Gersh, Principal Entertainment, and Yorn Levine Barnes.
Jax James is represented by Bex Elliff at Creative Artists Management.
