Kate Middleton’s New Approach to Fashion After Her Stylist Left
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is stepping into the spotlight with a decisive approach to her fashion choices, following the departure of her longtime stylist, Natasha Archer.
According to aides, Middleton is now “very much in control” of her wardrobe, especially evident in her gown selections during recent state banquets. Notably, she chose to wear Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet tiara for the royal family’s welcome of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in December 2025, pairing it with a lilac gown by Jenny Packham.

As a mother of three, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, Middleton has also made impactful choices in recent banquets. In September 2025, she honored the visit of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump with a dazzling full-length couture silk crepe gown designed by Phillipa Lepley, complemented by a hand-embroidered gold Chantilly lace evening coat. She accessorized with earrings once owned by the late Queen Elizabeth II and adorned herself with various royal orders.

Inside sources noted that Middleton has expertly balanced her royal and family responsibilities, acknowledging the importance of visibility for sustaining the monarchy’s profile. “She knows visibility is crucial for maintaining the monarchy’s profile, but she doesn’t need to be at everything,” one source stated, indicating a more intentional approach to her public appearances.
Despite the absence of her stylist, Middleton continues to earn accolades as a fashion icon, having been featured in Vogue on their 2025 Best Dressed Brits list.
Archer, who began her career as a personal assistant to Middleton in 2010, recently left her position to pursue other ventures. It was reported that Middleton has no immediate plans to hire a replacement, as she reportedly feels confident in her ability to navigate her own fashion choices.
“She is so confident; she knows exactly what suits her and what doesn’t,” a source confirmed.
