Kate Middleton is excited to shape her family’s new home at Forest Lodge, focusing on its interior design. The move to this secluded property in Windsor Great Park marks a long-term reset for Princess Kate and Prince William, providing an opportunity to create new memories after a challenging period.
During a German state visit on December 3, Princess Kate discussed her enthusiasm for creating “mood boards” and starting the redecoration process. Prince William acknowledged the challenges they have faced with renovations but expressed confidence in tackling them together.
The eight-bedroom residence, believed to be the Wales family’s forever home, will be a significant space for their future, even as William prepares for kingship. Kate’s touch aims to establish a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The Princess is expected to showcase her artistic eye by crafting an elegant aesthetic, incorporating soft creams, gentle pastels, and country-style elements like antique rugs and reclaimed terracotta tiles. Her previous redecoration of Anmer Hall featured similar design choices, with a focus on neutral tones and a calm atmosphere.
Forest Lodge mirrors this sensibility, enlarged for the family’s future. With ample space to host relatives, including a recently selected 24-seat dining table, the home reflects the values that Kate and William hold dear, centered on family life.
Royal historian Amanda Foreman noted, “They are signaling a different kind of lifestyle — it’s very centered on their children.”
