Kate Middleton Dazzles in All-Green Outfit for St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Amidst a Busy Schedule
Princess of Wales Upholds St. Patrick’s Day Tradition Amid Upcoming State Visit
Despite a packed schedule that includes an upcoming state visit, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, maintained her annual tradition by attending the St. Patrick’s Day parade on March 17. As the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, she celebrated the occasion at Mons Barracks.
Wearing a striking head-to-toe green ensemble typical of the holiday, Kate assumed her role as "Colonel Catherine," a title she has held since 2022. Her outfit featured a calf-length forest green coat complemented by a matching fascinator adorned with bow detailing. The Princess accessorized with a black statement belt, black heeled boots, and black gloves, styling her hair in an elegant updo.

On Tuesday, she visited the regiment, continuing a tradition she began shortly after joining the royal family in 2012. Before her, Prince William held the position of Colonel of the Irish Guards and wore their uniform at his wedding to Kate in 2011. Following King Charles’s ascension to the throne in 2022, Kate assumed the colonelcy, returning to the parade last year after a hiatus.

As part of the celebration, Kate presented shamrock sprigs to the officers and Guardsmen and interacted with the regiment’s mascot, an Irish Wolfhound named Seamus. Following the parade, it was reported that she would award long service and good conduct medals to members of the regiment and meet with the Regimental Association members and the junior cadets, known as “Mini Micks” from Northern Ireland.
After taking photographs, the Princess plans to gather with regiment members and their families at the Sergeants’ Mess, where she often shares a toast with a glass of Guinness.

Kate has expressed that her role as Colonel of the Irish Guards is "a great honor." In a speech during the 2023 St. Patrick’s Day parade, she emphasized her commitment: "I am here to listen to you, to support you, and to champion you in all you do—this is a responsibility I do not take lightly."
