Musgraves, an eight-time Grammy winner, released her seventh studio album on May 1, featuring a total of 13 songs on both streaming platforms and physical copies. On May 5, she unveiled two bonus tracks, available for purchase alongside the digital album.

*Middle of Nowhere* serves as a follow-up to Musgraves’ 2024 Billboard 200 No. 2 album, *Deeper Well*. This latest work delves into themes of post-breakup solitude and the emotional complexity it brings. The album features collaborations with notable artists such as Willie Nelson, Gregory Alan Isakov, and Billy Strings, alongside a guest appearance by Miranda Lambert, marking a resolution to a long-standing feud between the two country stars.
This surprise rollout of new tracks is just one of many recent highlights in Musgraves’ career. Before releasing *Middle of Nowhere*, she made a notable return to Coachella after seven years, performing on a lineup announced just days before the festival. To further support her new album, Musgraves will embark on the *Middle of Nowhere Tour*, kicking off on August 21 in Chicago and concluding on October 27 in Seattle.
