Collaboration between Justice and Parker has produced remarkable outcomes, including Grammy accolades. Their joint effort, “Neverender,” received the award for best dance/electronic recording at the 2025 Grammy Awards, marking Parker’s first win and Justice’s fifth.
Augé expressed surprise at Parker’s solitary Grammy win, saying, “it’s a big mystery.”
The duo became acquainted with Tame Impala’s distinctive sound in the late 2000s and deduced that Australia had something special to offer in music.
“We often think about why Australia produces some of the best music consistently for the past 60 years. Our theory is that being isolated in the physical world might be a big part of that,” Augé noted during a Zoom interview. “There are so many great (Australian) bands throughout the decades and still today. We think that being far away from the world noise plays an important part in that.”
Australia is currently experiencing a surge in electronic dance music, with artists like Dom Dolla, Ninajirachi, Luude, and FISHER leading the charge.
De Rosnay revealed, “To be honest, we’re more into Amyl and The Sniffers than the electronic music.”
Justice’s enthusiasm for Amyl and The Sniffers is well-placed, as the group has had a standout year, performing at Glastonbury, receiving a BRIT Award nomination, securing four wins at the ARIA Awards, and receiving their first Grammy Award nomination for the upcoming year. Amyl Taylor, the band’s frontwoman, also ventured into electronic music with the single “you’re a star,” featuring Fred Again.
As the conversation shifted to Justice’s future projects, Augé jested about the timeline for their next album. “Purportedly on the statistics, I would say a safe prediction for the next album is around 2048.”
Their Australian tour kicked off on December 3 at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena and will continue in Melbourne on December 5, followed by Brisbane on December 7, concluding a 21-month international sequence.
De Rosnay emphasized the importance of execution for their shows, stating, “Hopefully you’ll experience something fun, frantic, exhilarating and new, or something we hope that you haven’t heard and haven’t seen before.”
