Josh Lucas, Tim Blake Nelson, and Josh Duhamel Join Brandon Sklenar in Paramount’s Exciting New Western Thriller ‘The Rescue’
EXCLUSIVE: Actors Josh Lucas, Nick Searcy, Lorelei Olivia Mote, Austin Amelio, Spencer Treat Clark, Tim Blake Nelson, and Josh Duhamel are set to join the cast of Paramount’s upcoming film The Rescue, which stars Brandon Sklenar. Hassie Harrison will also appear in the film. Directed by Potsy Ponciroli, known for his work on Old Henry, the screenplay is penned by John Fusco. Production is currently underway, with a release date slated for January 29, 2027.
Ponciroli will produce the film alongside Shannon Houchins and Cliff Roberts, with Down Home serving as the executive producer. Although the logline remains confidential, The Rescue is described as a modern-day Western that tests a rodeo cowboy’s skills beyond the confines of the arena.
The project has been a top priority since its development at Skydance prior to the merger with Paramount, marking it as one of the first films greenlit by the new management team.
