Celebratory Pride Brunch Held in West Hollywood, Highlighting LGBTQ+ Progress and Challenges
On Thursday, The Abbey in West Hollywood served as a vibrant gathering point for LGBTQ+ icons as they celebrated a special Pride brunch. The event featured a lively roundtable discussion addressing the advances and ongoing obstacles faced by the gay community.
The panel included notable figures such as drag queen and singer Trixie Mattel, actor and activist George Takei, style entrepreneur Derek Warburton, and fitness instructor and drag queen Matty Maggiacomo. Their insights reflect a blend of entertainment and advocacy, emphasizing the importance of community dialogue.
Attendees were treated to a catered brunch, along with signature drinks provided by sponsors including Keck Medicine of USC, United Sodas of America, Trixie Mattel’s Serv Vodka, Beam Suntory, Rumor Wines, and Mezcal 33. The event was hosted in partnership with GLSEN, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring safe and affirming schools for LGBTQ+ youth.
