Pasadena Humane Marks Fifth Annual Day of Giving to Support Animal Care Programs
Pasadena Humane is set to host its fifth annual Day of Giving on Tuesday, launching a fundraising campaign aimed at enhancing animal care programs and emergency veterinary services.
Donations made before midnight on Tuesday will be quadruple matched, up to $100,000, thanks to the Denne Trust, which could potentially increase the shelter’s funding by as much as $400,000, according to officials.
The campaign emphasizes the significant work of the shelter’s animal intensive care unit. A notable case highlighted is that of Timmy, a four-pound dog who sustained severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle. Timmy suffered broken ribs, puncture wounds, and a spinal injury that rendered him unable to use his hind legs. After several weeks of treatment, involving surgery, medication, and physical therapy, Timmy has fully recovered and found a new home.
“The generosity of our community makes it possible for us to care for animals in need,” said Chris Ramon, president and CEO of Pasadena Humane. “Day of Giving donations, combined with this donor match, will help us save more animals like Timmy.”
Funds raised during the campaign will also support foster care, wildlife rehabilitation, pet adoptions, and low-cost services including vaccinations, spay and neuter procedures, and microchipping.
Pasadena Humane, founded in 1903, provides care and services for tens of thousands of animals every year in the Greater Los Angeles area.
