John Kim Teams Up with Hunter Page-Lochard and Kat Stewart in New Australian Drama ‘Fortitude Valley’
John Kim Joins Cast of Australian Drama ‘Fortitude Valley’
John Kim has been cast alongside Hunter Page-Lochard and Kate Stewart in the upcoming Australian television drama Fortitude Valley. Known for his work in Cruel Intentions, Kim will portray Detective Senior Constable Gavin Chang, who is tasked with solving two cold-case murders.
With a notable background in television, Kim has starred in TNT’s The Librarians, the Prime Video reboot of Cruel Intentions, and Apple TV’s WondLa. He is also slated to appear in the animated film Voltron and Hong Won-ki’s K-pop thriller Perfect Girl.
Fortitude Valley, produced by Moving Floor Entertainment, is a crime series set in the heart of Brisbane, Australia. The show delves into themes of family secrets and the corrupting influence of power, describing its narrative as one that explores the “sunshine and shadow” of Queensland’s capital.
Both Page-Lochard and Stewart, noted for their performances in Reckless and Offspring, respectively, will begin filming in Queensland next month. The production has received backing from Screen Queensland’s Screen Finance Fund and Post, Digital, and Visual Effects Incentive.
The series is scheduled to premiere on ABC TV and ABC iView in 2027. Rachel Okine, ABC’s Head of Scripted, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with a talented creative team to bring Fortitude Valley to the channel.
