John Boyega and Cara Delevingne Star in ‘The Punishing’: First Look at the New Supernatural Horror Film Premiering at Cannes Market
Cara Delevingne to Star in Upcoming Horror Film, The Punishing
At the Cannes Film Festival, actress Cara Delevingne is making headlines with her latest project, Club Kid. However, she is also set to feature prominently in another highly anticipated film, The Punishing.
Delevingne stars alongside Star Wars actor John Boyega in this supernatural horror movie. New promotional images and additional details were revealed today, heightening interest in the film.
Produced by Spooky Pictures, Redwire Pictures, and Tiki Tane Pictures, The Punishing is written and directed by Chris Sparling, known for his work on Buried. The film is currently in post-production and draws inspiration from Scandinavian folklore. Set on a remote Icelandic island, it tells the story of a man who unexpectedly recovers from a terminal illness, only for his wife to discover that the island’s healing capabilities come with a horrifying price.
Ignite is handling international sales for the film and is poised to initiate dealmaking at the Cannes market. Domestic distribution rights are being represented by WME Independent and UTA Independent Film Group.
The production team includes Steven Schneider of Spooky Pictures, William Shockley and Tom Brady from Tiki Tane Pictures, Luke Daniels of Redwire Pictures, and Andrew Corkin from Uncorked Productions. John Boyega is also a producer on the film. Redwire and Tiki Tane have fully financed the project.
