Jewelry Stolen During Home Break-In in Beverlywood Before Suspect’s Arrest
A man was apprehended Monday night after breaking into a residence in Beverlywood and stealing jewelry.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the suspect did not manage to escape far and was subsequently located in a nearby neighbor’s backyard shortly after the incident.
Authorities confirmed that the man was taken into custody around 11:30 p.m. in a neighborhood close to Pico Boulevard. The residents of the home were present during the break-in and had retreated to a bedroom to call 911 for assistance.
The LAPD reported that the intruder gained entry by forcing a door open and possibly exited through a window that had been pried ajar.
Although the investigation is ongoing, officers believe the intruder may have acted alone, though they have not dismissed the possibility of a second party being involved.
Fortunately, the residents were unharmed and are reported to be safe. Police patrolled the area around 4 a.m. following the incident.
