Jessica Lange is Back on Set for Season 13 of American Horror Story
Jessica Lange is set to return to American Horror Story for its upcoming Season 13, as the FX anthology series begins filming its highly anticipated season.
This marks Lange’s first appearance in the franchise since Apocalypse (Season 8) in 2018, when she reprised her iconic role of Constance Langdon from the inaugural season during two episodes.
Recent photos from the set reveal Lange looking out a window in a blue dress and heels, confirming her return to the series.
There had been uncertainty surrounding Lange’s comeback. At the Glasgow Film Festival in early 2025, she appeared to dismiss the idea of returning when she said, “Oh Christ, no. I mean, I haven’t done it for more than 10 years, 12 years, so, no, I’m not doing it.”
Lange has a rich history with the American Horror Story franchise. She debuted in the show’s first season and subsequently appeared in Asylum (Season 2) as Sister Jude Martin. In Season 3’s Coven, she depicted Fiona Goode, and in 2014, she took on the role of Elsa Mars in Freak Show (Season 4).
Beyond American Horror Story, Lange has collaborated with creator Ryan Murphy on several projects. She starred as Joan Crawford in Feud: Bette and Joan (2017), for which she also received a producer credit. In 2019, she portrayed Dusty in Murphy’s The Politician and most recently appeared in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans as Lillie Mae Faulk, also earning a co-producer credit.
Joining Lange in the cast of AHS13 are notable stars including Ariana Grande, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman.
