With this achievement, Spielberg becomes one of the few entertainers to win all four major awards—an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony—marking a remarkable “grand slam” in show business.
“I love that Steven Spielberg got it today, which is amazing,” Hudson stated. Since joining the EGOT club herself in 2022, she acknowledged the significance of Spielberg’s win. “The company that we’re in with all the EGOTs is insane,” she added.
When asked by Gomez what advice she would give to Spielberg as a new member of the club, Hudson responded, “How in the world can I welcome Steven Spielberg? He is the EGOT, and I’m like, wow, that cannot be overlooked. That is a major celebration.”

Hudson’s acknowledgment of the “amazing company” highlights the elite status conferred by EGOT membership. She knows well the significance of this honor; her own journey began with an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 2007’s Dreamgirls. She later won two Grammys, and a Daytime Emmy for the animated short Baba Yaga.
Spielberg’s accomplishments span numerous prestigious awards, including three Oscars for Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan, as well as Emmys for The Pacific and A Pinky & the Brain Christmas. Additionally, he was a producer for the Tony-winning musical A Strange Loop.
The 2026 Grammys were held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, showcasing talent across the entertainment spectrum.
