Jennifer Garner Takes on a Crime Family in the Season 2 Trailer of ‘The Last Thing He Told Me,’ Featuring Newcomer Judy Greer
Apple TV has released the trailer for the second season of The Last Thing He Told Me, with Jennifer Garner starring and serving as an executive producer.
The new season will feature returning cast members Angourie Rice, David Morse, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, alongside newcomers Judy Greer and Rita Wilson. Spanning eight episodes, the second season is set to premiere globally on Friday, February 20, 2026, with subsequent episodes airing weekly until April 10, 2026.
Adapted from Laura Dave’s New York Times bestselling sequel, The First Time I Saw Him, the upcoming season promises to heighten the action and suspense. This sequel was released on January 6, 2026.
In the series, Owen (Coster-Waldau) returns after five years on the run, prompting Hannah Hall (Garner) and her stepdaughter Bailey (Rice) to race against time to reunite their family before past events catch up with them.
In a tense moment from the trailer, Hannah confronts Owen, saying, “You’re trying to build a case that would take down the Campanos? These are erratic, immoral people.” The trailer introduces a mysterious crime family, with John Noble and Luke Kirby portraying significant members. Owen insists that this is their best opportunity to come together as a family.
Amid their turmoil, Bailey questions Hannah, “Isn’t it safest for us to stay away from him?” With Hannah having made arrangements with Bailey’s maternal grandfather Nicholas Bell (David Morse), their living situation becomes increasingly complicated.
The second season also welcomes back and introduces several cast members, including Augusto Aguilera, Josh Hamilton, Nick Hargrove, Michael Galante, Michael Hyatt, and Elizabeth O’Donnell.
Produced by 20th Television and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine under Candle Media, The Last Thing He Told Me is created and adapted by Laura Dave, alongside her husband, Academy Award-winning co-creator Josh Singer. Both serve as executive producers, alongside Garner, Witherspoon, and Lauren Neustadter. Emmy Award nominee Aaron Zelman joins the team as co-showrunner and executive producer for season two, working alongside Singer. Daisy von Scherler Mayer and Merri D. Howard also contribute as executive producers.
