Jelly Roll Cheers for Daughter Bailee as She Becomes Prom Queen: A Proud Dad’s Tribute
Jelly Roll Celebrates Daughter’s Prom Queen Status
Country music artist Jelly Roll recently marked a significant milestone in his daughter Bailee Ann’s life, sharing the happy news that she has been crowned Prom Queen. On Saturday, May 2, the 41-year-old posted on his Instagram Story, “My little angel is the Prom Queen,” to celebrate this special occasion.
In a touching photo, Bailee beams in a strapless teal gown adorned with a sparkling crown, complemented by white and blue sashes reading “Prom Royalty” and “Prom Queen.” Accompanied by a stunning red rose, she epitomizes the joy of the evening.
Additional moments from the night were shared in a separate Instagram post featuring Jelly Roll alongside his wife, Bunnie Xo. The couple proudly stood behind their daughter as she posed elegantly in a chair. The video resonates with family spirit, showing the trio dressed up and lip-syncing to Reba McEntire’s iconic song “Fancy.”
Bunnie Xo, 46, commented on their joint post, “You kno we had to represent 🩷,” with Jelly Roll responding enthusiastically, “Let’s goooooo biscuit.”
Reflecting on his journey as a father, Jelly Roll welcomed Bailee with ex-girlfriend Felicia in 2008 while serving a prison sentence for a drug-related conviction. In a June 2023 interview with Billboard, he recounted the moment he learned of Bailee’s birth: “A guard knocks on my cell door midafternoon during lockdown. He goes, ‘You had a kid today.’ I’ve never had nothing in life that urged me in the moment to know that I had to do something different.”
Jelly Roll became a father for the second time in August 2016 with the birth of his son, Noah Buddy, with ex-partner Melisa. In a heartfelt Facebook post, he expressed his hopes for his children: “God Bless this Child to be everything I am not! Noah Buddy DeFord! I pray he nor Bailee ever have to pay for their father’s sins.”
This significant family event follows Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo’s recent marriage at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. The couple has expressed a desire to expand their family through in vitro fertilization. Bunnie Xo shared insights on her podcast, “Dumb Blonde,” about their joint aspirations, stating, “I feel like I’ve accomplished so much in my life. And the only thing that’s left is to raise a baby and garden. I’m in my baby mama [and] gardening era.”
The excitement surrounding their efforts reflects a deep familial bond as they aim for new beginnings together.
