In a surprising revelation, Jameis Winston disclosed his decision to abstain from sex for an entire year to enhance his on-field performance. This admission left NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce both stunned and entertained during a recent episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast, *New Heights*.

On January 14, Winston, 32, described this commitment as part of his attempt to hold himself accountable off the field. He recounted having “one of the most up-and-down years off the field” after asking his fiancée Breion to marry him while embracing celibacy.

Winston explained his parents advised him about living together before marriage—a situation he referred to as “shacking.” He decided to eliminate this potential distraction, saying, “We have to eliminate that” to stay true to his celibacy vow.

To maintain his commitment, Winston even purchased a separate property to distance himself from his home. This prompted Jason Kelce to humorously advise against using a blacklight in that space, eliciting laughter from both Winston and Travis.

Winston, who most recently played for the New York Giants, emphasizes the importance of off-the-field accountability when mentoring young athletes. He shared that he often asks them, “What are you doing off the field consistently?”

Winston and Breion’s relationship dates back to their high school days in Alabama, where they first crossed paths as athletes. After winning the 2013 Heisman Award, Winston proposed to Breion while she was eight months pregnant with their first child, Antonor, who was born in 2018.

The couple married in March 2020 in an intimate ceremony and later welcomed their second son, Malachi, later that year. In a heartfelt Mother’s Day tribute in May 2024, Winston expressed his admiration for Breion, calling her a “blessing” to their family and recognizing her unmatched commitment and sacrifice.
