Isiah Whitlock Jr. Joins Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Saoirse-Monica Jackson in ‘The Body is Water’ – A Glimpse of His Final Performance
Production Wraps on ‘The Body is Water’
Production has concluded on The Body is Water, the latest feature film directed by Irish filmmaker Vicky Wight. This film features Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Isiah Whitlock Jr. in his final on-screen role, with a first look image released to the public.
Currently in post-production, The Body is Water boasts a talented cast that includes Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Stephen Rea, Aidan Quinn, Allen Leech, Eva Birthistle, Fionnula Flanagan, Bronagh Gallagher, and Maria Doyle Kennedy.
Set against the backdrop of Houston, Texas, and the rugged coastline of West Cork, Ireland, the story follows a grieving man who retreats to a remote Irish village. There, he discovers that his desire to disappear is thwarted by the town—and particularly by Lou, an eccentric young woman accompanied by her curious dog.
Wight produced the film alongside Geoff Linville, known for 20th Century Women and Nomadland, and Sydney Augusta Huynh, who worked on The Bling Ring and Bad Words. John Norton of Red Ted Media also served as a producer. Executive producers for the project include Stephen Hall and Mike Jones from Dark Day Pictures, as well as Coert Voorhees, who has credits in The Lost Husband and Boy Genius.
In addition to The Body is Water, Wight recently completed a short documentary titled Zina, focused on tennis legend Zina Garrison. This documentary, executive-produced by Serena Williams, is set to premiere at the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival in April 2026.
