Injuries and Arrests Follow Downtown LA Street Takeover
One person sustained injuries, and another individual was taken into custody following a street takeover that disrupted an apartment complex in downtown Los Angeles over the weekend.
Online video footage reportedly shows a large crowd gathering at the intersection of Figueroa and 12th Streets, where drivers engaged in reckless stunts. Residents of the Circa LA apartments witnessed the chaos unfold from their balconies. They reported that shortly after the takeover began, a group breached the building, breaking a glass window and assaulting staff in the lobby.
In response to the incident, law enforcement was dispatched to the area around 3:15 a.m. on Sunday. The Los Angeles Fire Department treated one individual on-site for injuries, later transferring them to a nearby hospital.
Police confirmed that one suspect was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, though the individual’s name has not been disclosed.
The Los Angeles Police Department stated it has not reviewed the circulating video. NBC Los Angeles was also unable to verify its authenticity.
