On January 8, 2026, model Iman and her daughter, Alexandria “Lexi” Zahra Jones, expressed heartfelt tributes to the late musician David Bowie, marking the 10th anniversary of his death.
In her tribute, shared on Instagram, Iman, 70, posted a touching black-and-white photograph of Bowie, who passed away at the age of 69 from liver cancer on January 10, 2016. Iman’s caption read, “Happy Heavenly Birthday. Your light burns so bright in all our hearts! We love and miss you #BowieForever.”
Lexi Jones, 25, also took to Instagram to commemorate her father. She posted a message that read, “Da big 79 today. Happy birthday pops, miss ya! 🩵”. In her post, she shared nostalgic photographs from her childhood, including moments where she celebrated Bowie’s birthdays.
The anniversary of Bowie’s death sparked a wave of memories for Iman, who has previously shared reflections on their love. Just last June, she marked what would have been their 33rd wedding anniversary with poignant messages and cherished snapshots from their wedding day in Italy on June 6, 1992.
Iman noted during this past anniversary: “My memory loves you; it asks about you all the time,” alongside a celebration of their wedding.
The couple met in 1990 and got engaged by the Seine River two years later. They welcomed Lexi in August 2000, solidifying their family bond.
Iman has consistently honored Bowie’s legacy, maintaining that their love transcends his passing. “I still feel married,” she said in a 2021 interview. “Through my memory, my love lives.”
