Hudson Williams and Jennifer Grey Join the Cast of Netflix’s Sam Bankman-Fried Limited Series Alongside Four Others
Netflix Expands Cast for Sam Bankman-Fried Limited Series "The Altruists"
Netflix’s upcoming limited series, The Altruists, has announced the addition of six new actors to its cast. Hudson Williams, known for Heated Rivalry, will portray Duncan Rheingans-Yoo. Jennifer Grey, famed for her role in Dirty Dancing, will take on the character of Sarah Fisher Ellison. The cast also includes Terry Chen (Almost Famous) as CZ, Elizabeth Adams (Wayward) as Hannah, Hannah Galway (The Institute) as Lucy, and William Mapother (Lost) in the role of Dr. Lerner.
The series, centered on the story of Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison, highlights two ambitious young idealists who aimed to revolutionize the global financial system. Their journey takes a dramatic turn when they face accusations of stealing $8 billion, positioning them as a modern-day equivalent of Bonnie and Clyde.
In addition to the new cast members, the series will feature regulars such as Eugene Young as Gary Wang, Madison Hu as Constance Wang, Karan Soni as Nishad Singh, Matt Rife as Ryan Salame, Alex Lawther as Sam Trabucco, and Naomi Okada as Claire Watanabe. Notable recurring cast members include Maddie Hasson as Lauren Platt, Marianna Phung as Lily Zhang, Paul Reiser as Joe Bankman, and Robin Weigert as Barbara Fried.
The Altruists will consist of eight episodes, co-showrun and executive produced by Graham Moore and Jacqueline Hoyt. The first episode is directed by James Ponsoldt, who also serves as an executive producer. Other executive producers include Jessie Dicovitsky and Vinnie Malhotra from Higher Ground Productions, Scoop Wasserstein for New York Magazine/Vox Media Studios, Tonia Davis, Lauren Morelli, and Julia Garner.
