Horror Film ‘The Room Below’ Featuring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Alyssa Sutherland Secures North American Distribution Deal
EXCLUSIVE: The horror film The Room Below, featuring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Alyssa Sutherland, has been acquired by Uncork’d Entertainment for distribution in North America. The deal was facilitated by Blacktop International, who will also continue sales for the film at the European Film Market (EFM), where it is expected to release in North America in the third quarter of this year.
The cast of The Room Below includes Gilbert Bradman, Goran D. Kleut, Lauren Grimson, Tristan McKinnon, and Bobby Gilchrist. The film’s synopsis reveals a harrowing story: “After losing her son to cancer, a grieving mother with a Creature in her home befriends another boy to replace her dead son, but her plans unravel when a retired detective starts searching for the missing child.”
Produced by Lunar Pictures in collaboration with Valecroft, Tetrad Studios, Headgear Films, CME, and MIK Studios, the film has garnered interest for its compelling narrative.
JD Beaufils, President of Blacktop International, commented on the film’s appeal, stating, “The Room Below has resonated quickly with buyers looking for cast-led, high-concept horror. We saw strong momentum coming out of AFM, and that interest has carried directly into EFM. Uncork’d is a great partner for the North American release, and we’re excited by the film’s continued international response.”
