Hilary Duff Revives Beloved Song for Laguna Beach Reunion: Take a Listen
Trending on Billboard
Hilary Duff has brought nostalgia to the forefront with a re-recording of her classic hit “Come Clean,” released unexpectedly on Friday, April 10, ahead of the anticipated reunion special for *Laguna Beach*.
In this refreshed version, Duff adopts a mature sound while retaining the charm of her teenage years. The singer reflects on personal themes in the lyrics, stating, “Let the rain fall down/ And wake my dreams/ Let it wash away my sanity/ ‘Cause I want to feel the thunder/ I wanna scream/ Let the rain fall down/ I’m coming clean.”
This new rendition will feature on Duff’s upcoming collection, *Hilary Duff – (Mine)*, set for release on April 18. The collection will be available on silver vinyl exclusively for this year’s Record Store Day, with only 10,000 copies up for grabs, making it a limited opportunity for fans to enjoy her reimagined hits, including “What Dreams Are Made Of.”
“Come Clean (Mine)” will also be part of *The Reunion: Laguna Beach*, premiering on The Roku Channel on the same day. The original version of “Come Clean,” which peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004, notably served as the theme song for the reality series. Interestingly, Duff humorously revealed during an appearance on *Watch What Happens Live* in 2023 that she’s never actually watched the show.
The actress, who also stars in *How I Met Your Father*, is making a significant musical comeback this year, having released her first album in a decade, *Luck … or Something*, in February. The album has achieved notable success, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Additionally, her seven-month Lucky Me Tour is set to commence in June.
