Driver Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Crash in Reseda
LOS ANGELES — A high-speed police chase through the San Fernando Valley culminated in a significant crash early Friday morning, injuring two individuals and resulting in one arrest.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident began around 3:20 a.m. when officers responded to reports of a speeding vehicle near the DeSoto Avenue exit on the northbound 101 Freeway. The driver of a gray Dodge Durango fled from law enforcement, leading to a pursuit that ended in a violent collision at the intersection of Sherman Way and North Wilbur Avenue.
Officials confirmed that the front end of the Durango was severely damaged in the crash, which involved a Subaru. The driver of the Subaru was transported to a local hospital, though their condition remains unknown.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the driver or provided details regarding potential charges, which may include felony evasion and reckless driving causing injury, pending a review by the District Attorney’s office.
Investigators will continue to process the crash site, which could lead to traffic delays in the Reseda area throughout the morning.
