HBO Introduces Behind-the-Scenes Special ‘Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic’ for Harry Potter Fans
HBO will unveil a special behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Harry Potter series titled Finding Harry: The Craft Behind The Magic. Scheduled to premiere on Sunday, April 5, at 8 PM UK time (3 PM ET, 12 PM PT) on HBO Max, the special will also be broadcast on HBO in the U.S. that evening at 8 PM ET/PT and in select international markets. A trailer for the special is available online.
Narrated by actor Nick Frost, the special includes interviews with various team members involved in casting, production design, costume design, and creature effects. Additionally, it features appearances by key cast members such as John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, and Paapa Essiedu.
The trailer for the first season of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone attained 277 million organic views within its first 48 hours, setting a record as the most-watched trailer in HBO and HBO Max history, more than doubling the previous record.

Based on J.K. Rowling’s beloved fantasy book series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The series is set to debut on Christmas Day on HBO and will stream on HBO Max.
The storyline follows Harry Potter, who receives a letter of admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on his 11th birthday, revealing a hidden world filled with fun, friendship, and magic. However, this new adventure comes with significant risks as Harry confronts a formidable enemy from his past.
Lithgow portrays Albus Dumbledore, while McTeer plays Minerva McGonagall, and Essiedu appears as Severus Snape. Other notable cast members include Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, with Mark Mylod serving as executive producer and director for multiple episodes. The project is produced in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television, with Rowling also serving as an executive producer alongside Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
